    Upgrading an RO system

This thread has got me thinking. I wonder if I've been running my unit at less than an "efficient" mode. I had a 1 membrane Applied Membranes unit that was expanded to 2 membranes decades ago (when I added an additional automatic bay). The motor/pump was also up-sized. I've been running the...

Resurrecting a R/O system. Please help me.

First, it sounds like the main Normally open solenoid valve has a bad diaphragm. It's the solenoid that the 1" line from the Charcoal filter taps into. On my unit, its a Dayton 1A579. The rebuild kit is a Dayton 2DAD2. I bet yours could be the same. The failed diaphragm allows water flow at...

Resurrecting a R/O system. Please help me.

I have the identical unit, except two membranes. RO machines need periodic service. Charcoal, Membranes, occasional electrical repair such as float switch. Replace the carbon for sure. It's cheap insurance. (Wood Brothers Water can help get the right stuff) High quality membranes can be...

    New guy

Ditto on using Nu-Wall. Be careful. The original version has HF.....works great, but is dangerous stuff. Don't get in a hurry to paint the walls. Painted walls in a car wash usually ends in disaster.

    Floejet pump

My compressor has a automatic drain that fires every 45 minutes. Even after running the air through an ARO water separator, I would still get icing in my ARO pumps. The aforementioned aftercooler was what was finally needed to eliminate moisture from the air lines.

Here'a a link to an old thread. (11) Removing Air Line Moisture | Car Wash Forum The pictures are long gone, but there's a lot of useful information. An aftercooler will condense the moisture, and give you dry air.
