Marketing and Advertisement suggestions to restart an idled SS

I think it depends on your location. I re opened a wash last year that had been shut down for 8+ years. Since it sits on a busy street I purchased 4 feather flags....2 "car wash" and 2 "open" flags and that's it. Personally I like red/yellow or red/white even though my wash has a blue mansard...

Trying to do some cleaning up on misc. parts. Inherited these new rotary switches from the previous owner. I updated to a 10 pos switch so have no use for them. In new condition, only one switch does not have the mounting nuts on it...see picture. Kleenrite part: STKR8QC...

    New member question on pricing

I dont care about what a competing wash is doing in terms of pricing. I focus on having the best place, good chemicals, and clean facility. In relation I charge accordingly for this. Yes some customers complain, for example "well the wash down the street is so much... " my response is always the...

    Need Help!

I dont know what your time frame is for buying a wash. I know I started looking at them when I was 24 yrs old. I had sold a very profitable landscape business enough to put 60% down on a wash I was looking at....but no bank would give the chance. Parents offered to finance the deal for me but I...

    Need Help!

Car washes are a little different especially if it is an existing car wash with a good customer base. Personally, I would never sell any of my washes under seller financing terms. My main concern would be the buyer gets into the business only to discover it isn't what they have seen on YouTube...

How to verify income with NO paperwork

Personally wouldn't waste my time. An owner can't expect to sell a car wash with no financials to show much less ask more than land and improvement value.

    New Owner looking to learn

Wow...personally way too much to type here. Also each wash is different so what applies to 1 may not apply to another. I have the same pump stands in all 4 of my washes and their not the same. Bottom line keep it clean, keep it running, keep it lit up at night. I have rotary switches so I make...

    Funding

I know a local car wash owner that used his house to get his first one.....8 car washes later he has done really well for himself and his family. Needless to say he has a nicer and bigger house now..... Another one I know maxed out 10+ credit cards to get enough money out to buy his first one...

    Funding

Do you have any other real property assets you can use as collateral? Personally, I owned rental real estate free and clear. I refinanced 4 properties to take cash out to buy more during the Great Recession. The last opportunity I found was a foreclosed car wash and I bought it. Values went up...

    Preasoak

" The black rubber plunger seat should be slightly recessed. If it is swollen you can try to shave it flat with a sharp single edged razor blade. That will likely allow enough flow. If that doesn't work replace it." Thanks for this tip Greg never thought to do it but used it today to fix a low...

    Preasoak

a lot of times on the coleman stands the regulator goes out and restricts flows to the solenoid manifold. Also make sure your check valve isn't shot as well. If check valve and regulator are good then go bay by bay and replace the plungers in the stem so long as the coil is still working...

Need all new equipment, everything !! Bought a closed down car wash in Pasadena, Texas

Does your mentor have car wash experience? For your equipment list I don't know why he left the 1034 timers or XE validators in there so just curious if owns a car wash or has been around them? Again I don't know what your skill set is and my situation is unique in that I have a small fab shop...

Need all new equipment, everything !! Bought a closed down car wash in Pasadena, Texas

How handy or mechanically inclined are you or your mentor? $200K for a rehab yikes.....I have rehabbed 4 washes now and each one of them I picked used equipment and did most of the work myself with my shop guys. The used equipment route saved me considerable amount of money. I have all...

    Mosmatic Swivels

I use the following Mosmatic swivels from the Hp hose to the gun: KR Part #: SWM32564 As early as this year I have noticed 3 of them lasted all of a week to 10 days before leaking. We test functions every day or at least every day. On Hp swivels like this the pressure can "seal" the swivel...
