Improving Your Image with Signs

Signs, signs everywhere are signs!

By Mark Santoro

In today’s world there is nowhere to hide from signs. Signage is a way of life in today’s busy marketplace. Whether you’re banking, shopping at the grocery or just trying to find a place to park signs are everywhere. The question is what are your signs saying about you?

When was the last time you looked at the signs around your car wash as your customer does? Do your signs look jazzy and bright or old and tired? Sometimes just a little change can make a big difference in how your business is perceived. Think about it, are your self serve bays signage fading or missing lettering? Besides being unsightly it could be a safety hazard. If you haven’t gotten bi-lingual signage in your self-serve bays you’re also missing a target market for your business.

When you look inside your tunnel wash, what do you see? Bright flashing lights and neon will get your customer’s attention in a positive way. What does your menu board say about you? With little cost you can get signage that tells your customer where they are and what you offer in a package that is pleasing to the eye and brings more dollars to your pocket. Let’s face it, where do you want to spend your money; in a drab store that screams blah or a bright multi colored location that looks fresh and inviting? If you want the answer to that question just look at the home of lights, Las Vegas. What brings the customer in more then the lights and signage that the casinos offer? Neon and flashing lights add excitement to the casino floor. Why not bring some of that excitement to your business?

If your business has dropped off as of late ask yourself this question, are my wash bays bright, inviting and have easy to read and understand signage or is it the same old drab place that doesn’t bring any excitement to the mix. Just a little change can mean a lot. Look at your signs with customer’s eyes. Maybe it’s time for a change.

You can get more information and pricing from your local car wash distributor or directly through a sign manufacturer who specializes in your business. If you need standard message or safety signs most car wash sign
manufacturers have them as stocking items. You should contact a manufacturer with their own art staff if you’re looking for something customized for your location.
