I have an ACW that the hopper was completely emptied and the "time out code came on". No damage to any of the buttons and our refund button has been disabled. No sign of damage to the wiring harness inside. Has any one heard of a tazer being used? Rumor? Any Ideas?

Do you valuate the coins in the hopper against income and payout? You should be able to determine what happened if you track it.

This happened to me one time and someone had drilled a small hole through the door and apparently took a wire and tripped the toggle switch on the bottom of the hopper. I took the switch out and filled the hole.

The toggle switch can be easily disabled. Find the harness that goes from the back of the cabinet to the hopper. There will be a solid white wire within it. Cut the white wire and the switch will be inoperative. I put quick couplers on it in case I want to use the switch sometime in the future.
