Sunday was one of those winter bread and butter days . Impossible to process cars fast enough at the EE. Fear of cops getting upset due to causing traffic tie ups.

Any way 2 seperate locations my guys took the initiative and stayed open an hour past regular closing becuase the line was still there.

I think a little $$$CASH in the manager's pocket straight from the boss might be in order!

I hope you pay them at least time-and-a-half for that.

I tried staying open past our normal 7 PM closing time on a peak wash day last winter. By 7:15 we had killed the line and only did another 12 cars from 7:15 to 8:00. Customers are creatures of habit. If they know you close at 7 they are not going to go out of their way to get to you on the off chance you decided to stay open past your normal closing time.

Just wondering Earl, how many di they wash that extra hour?

I could tell you, but then I would have to kill you.

Since I only had one man on duty it does not take much to make it worthwhile.

One place normaly stays open until 5 and stayed open until 6, the other is part of a complex that sells gas and has a c store not run by me. It usualy stays open unti 9 and he stayed until 10:00
