Hamilton auto-cashier with credit card acceptance seems to be a magnet for people to stuff coins into. It's happened numerous times but this time they fried it. It seems to be completely dead. New one is costing me close to $300. Just wondering if this has this happened to anyone else.

Jim,
It happens from time to time. You must have a Goldline ACW. They now have a shim that tills the Credit Card reader out at an angle so when the customer who puts his coins into the Credit card reader the coins will roll out. Be sure to get the newer style dual headed reader. The coins usually get stuck in the reader and the operator will dig the coins out with a hack saw blade or other similar type device. This will scratch the reader hard and ruin the reader pretty fast.

You can also cut a small slot in the bottom of the reader assembly that allows the quarters to drop out. That way you at least get their money.
