I have 4 wash packages in my 2 IBA's. My top package runs 45-50% of my sales. When I first opened a Ryko consultant told me that if you sold more than 15% of your top package your price was too low. A Simoniz rep then told me that I should be 50-75% top package. Anyone who could respond with what they run, how they got there etc. would be appreciated.

We're $5, $6, $8, & $10. Average per car is around $8.3 per car. $7 for a top wash? Time to raise the price.

Something that some operators are not aware of is how your wash packages are placed on the autocashier. Always, repeat always, have your most expensive wash as the top choice. I've increased some operators sales by simply doing this. People are generally lazy and will most often choose the one on top.

We have 2 machines--one at 5--8 and the other at 6--9. Between the two our average is consistently just above 8.

I plan an increase for 2009 as well as having 3 packages instead of 4. One of my packages gets barely any sales compared to the others. With the bottom 3 choices having only 30%, it tells me that 3 choices are plenty.

Thanks for all the replies. It seems 70-75 % is the most common. I run 45-50 %. My prices are higher than most 6,8,10,12. Do you think that has anything to do with it? I was the first IBA in a 75 mile 4 county area to break the 10 dollar mark. My top wash is located at the top of the menu. I sell washes to my oilchange customers with a 2 dollar discount those customers pick the top wash 91% of the time.
